BMW Timing Tool Kit is a comprehensive master tool necessary to set cam, valve and VANOS timing on the following BMW engine families: N51, N52, N53, N54,N55

BMW Timing Tool kit includes the following tools:

Camshaft alignment fixture used to align and retain the camshafts in the TDC position.  Equivalent to BMW factory tool 114 280. Applicable to N51, N52, N53 and N54 engines.

VANOS alignment fixture used to align the VANOS cam-phasers upon re-assembly.  Equivalent to BMW factory tool 114 290. Applicable to N51 and N52 engines.

VANOS alignment fixture used to align the VANOS cam-phasers upon re-assembly.  Equivalent to BMW factory tool 118 520. Applicable to N53 and N54 engines.

VANOS alignment fixture used to align the VANOS cam-phasers upon re-assembly.  Applicable to N55 engines.

N55 camshaft top plate

Timing pin used to lock the crankshaft in the TDC position while performing service work related to engine timing.  Equivalent to BMW factory tool 110 300. Applicable to N51, N52, N53, N54 and N55 engines.

Rigid chain tensioner necessary to tension the primary timing chain on when setting valve, cam or VANOS timing.  Equivalent to BMW factory tool 119 340. Applicable to N51, N52, N53, N54 and N55 engines.

Application Detail:

Applicable to the following engine families that are used broadly across the BMW range of vehicles

N51 – Normally aspirated Inline 6, produced from 2004-2011 featuring dual VANOS and Valvetronic.

N52 – A low-emissions version of N51 … same specifications and production dates.

N53 – Normally aspirated Inline 6, produced from 2007-2011 featuring dual VANOS and Direct Injection.  Not used in North America.

N54 – Twin-turbo Inline 6, produced from 2006-2008 featuring dual VANOS and Direct Injection.
